Send text reminder?

Would it be possible to send a text message reminder? I know I may need a third party service but could it be tide in?

It is possible to integrate with services such as Twilio, but those require of course a paid plan. Are you aware of any open source texting projects that might fit for the cause?

A lot of projects are using twilio as messaging provider. It would definitely be a big enhancement to integrate it (even if it needs a paid plan). Sending reminder messages to customers makes the whole appointment process very professional.

Are you aware of any open source texting projects that might fit for the cause?

Couldn't you just have them enter their number, format it, select their service provider and then append the appropriate address to their number? Like "1234567890@(providers address)". I know this used to be a thing, but I'm not sure if it still is.
