This looks more like a Rails issue to me. Do you agree? OK to close this?

I'm not sure where the fix should be implemented honestly, as I don't really understand the problem.

All I know for sure is that there are multiple versions of rails now that do not work with this library fully, with code that has worked for years :)

If you feel the fix should be in rails, please close as the issue is logged there too.
