Restart/ Destoy Matrix?, GPIO use?

Hello Alex, I see you are getting back updating this awesome library so first off, soo many thanks for your work

I'm not sure if this it's the best way to reach you , feel free to erase if not appropriate

First question, I'm sure this must exist but I haven't been able to figure out how to restart (with different parameters) or at least destroy in order to create the matrix again

Second question it's about to control the gpio, I read somewhere that including any kind of gpio library may be enought to control free gpios in case using 2 or less chains but could interfere , I'm not sure if already there is a "official way" to do it or how much effort would it take to control them from the matrix interface.
