I think the project would benefit from having a discord server. It would allow contributors to easily chat about project, especially about what are they doing at the moment (to avoid two people working on the same thing). Simply a space to chat, without being so "official" as GitHub issues and PRs are

This is not an invite link, it doesn't work unless you're in the server already.

On the topic, yeah, i think a Discord server would make communication much easier.
