Append '...' to truncated text

Hey, is it possible to add a '...' to the end of the truncated text?

For example, if this sentence was cut off partway through, it might look something like this:

I tried adding an ::after selector with content: '...' in various ways but I don't see a way of actually adding the text to the end of the sentence.

Did the ::after add it? Sounds like it would work. It would help if you had a picture showing what results you had.
