PNG with transparency to JPG

BIMP 1.16 / Gimp 2.8.16 / PClinuxOS KDE 32 bit

Converting png images with transparency to jpeg results in transparency converting to black regardless of the value of the background color. The usual Gimp expected result, exporting to jpeg is transparency -> BG (A work-a-round is procedure gimp-image-flatten then procedure Change Format..)

thanks for tip on flatten, also there is option to set background color
