Problem with Serif Semibold Italic

When I use Libertinus Serif Semibold and press the «Italic»-button I get an artificial oblique version (in LibreOffice Writer). I can still get a true italic if I select it from the list. The program seems to believe that the italic is a separate font, not a different version of the upright one. Can you do something to correct this?
