LibertinusSerif-SemiboldItalic.otf not valid font in Windows

I tried to install all OTF fonts from v7.020 in Windows 7. Only for LibertinusSerif-SemiboldItalic.otf I got the message "not valid font".

Thanks for the report. This is close to being a duplicate of #393, but not quite the same. I assumed the current problem was just that styles were not linked (which is what I see happening on Linux and makes sense from the meta data), I don't know why it wouldn't be a valid font in Windows' eyes.

What was the last release that working for you? There were several buggy ones in relation to this issue starting with 6.12, but which side of the coin was fixed and which was broken flip-flopped a few times. I'd be curious to know what if any of those worked on Windows.

Hey @gitgt, would you be able to try these test builds (from #405) and see if they fix your problem? One of the updates in the software used to build this font is a workaround for Windows that might actually resolve your issue, but since I'm not 100% sure what the issue is to start with I can't be sure of the fix either.

Sorry, No. Style group Font Family is still: Libertinus Serif Semibold Itali Style group Font Family should be: Libertinus Serif Semibold And Font Subfamily is set to: Regular And Font Subfamily should be set to: Italic And the Italic flag is not set. Typographic Family and Subfamily are fine.

@kenmcd I understand the family name is still messed up (that's issue #393) but I'm not convinced that issue is what is making the font "not a valid font" in Windows 7 for the original poster. That's what I wanted to confirm here — I wasn't expecting the family name linking to be corrected yet as I still haven't found the source of that mixup.

OK. FYI. Both the original 7.022 and this test build install in Windows 10 with no error message. So it may just be a Windows 7 font validation issue.

The last version compatible with Win7 can be found here https://github.com/alerque/libertinus/releases/tag/v6.11

Sorry for not responding earlier, I was away from computer. Testing version expired in the meantime. I don't know what would be the last version working. I just see that latest Libertinus-7.040.zip has the same issue. I confirm @Hale812 comment, SemiboldItalic.otf from v6.11 works in Windows 7.
