Could you please tag releases via github so its simpler for package maintainers to package the software?

Though, tarballs are available on PyPI at https://pypi.python.org/pypi/gmpy2/

It seems releases are now tagged on GitHub:

  • https://github.com/aleaxit/gmpy/releases

This issue could be renamed "Tag releases on GitHub", and closed.

That is nice! If those tarballs were pgp signed, that'd be perfect. You can use gpgit if you need any help with that.
