Aldo, sometimes when i'm on hen i have slowdowns and black screen with the particles when exiting an app/remote play
so today i found why, i have a hdd with games about 10years old or so that is kinda slow
So i realized that is because my games are being scanned (hdd led blinking + yellow led) even though the check box to disable the scan on startup is disabled and it really takes some time to be scanned about 5 minutes
So what i thought is if when the scan on startup is being performanced a persistent bottom notification could be added something like "Scanning for content..." it's discreet, silent and gives at least a feedback to the user.
What do you think?
I've seen a lot of places that we can use the persistent notifications
E.g: i never uninstalled webman via the official xmbml menu, it took a while, about 15 seconds so i thought nothing happens untill the system rebooted automatically ( i know i could tell by the hdd led activity, but ss models doesnt have it)
So how about:
These i think that could be permanent on the xmb as long the feature is turned on or at least a variant command could add it
I think that every command/action that is not immediately performanced could display a persistent notification (botton for simple information and top for detailed) to give a feedback to the user.
Same for those that change system functions like externalGAME data and the psn blocker

webMAN MOD only scans at startup when mygames.xml doesn't exist or if the option to disable the scan is not checked. Otherwise the disks are not scanned.

The idea is interesting... I have to make some tests. If the results are satisfactory I could be implementing the notification in some commands. The major annoyance is that any new text normally must be translated to 23 languages.
That's why I tend to use symbols, "OK" or reuse text labels. Or leave in English some features like ps3mapi

Oh, my mygames.xml indeed was missing, that's the reason so (i set my script to delete the mygames.xml if my mod file is not present in flash to force the scan as i disable some things, i forgot about it :P)
