PS3 MAPI Doesnt work since hfw 4.90 release

these days I have been noticing that no application that I use with mapi works in any way I thought, oh ok maybe I have MAPI disabled in the configuration menu but it seems to be enabled Wrong IP??? neither. Verify putting the same ip 3 times in a row without any success Webman server plugin loaded? Definitely, it appears loaded in the webman plugins menu Maybe maybe you are on another wifi? same network, connected wirelessly. I have tried to connect to the ip with the pc and my blackberry 9780 but directly the console rejects the connection ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT is what I get every time I try to access the ip of the console Honestly, I don't know what else to do, installing hfw 4.90 was a pain due to the fact of not accidentally updating webman before updating the new version of hfw, having to use a usb with empty boot_plugins-txt to be able to uninstall webman and install a new version. After installing it, the icon was not there, 3 times in vain, I ended up reinstalling the hfw and repeating the process and it worked. All the other functions that webman mod has work correctly except ps3mapi Thanks in advance :D

This issue requires a more detailed analysis, because there are many potential user errors involved:

  • boot_plugins.txt was a workaround to allow HEN installation when the user update using an older version of webMAN. This workaround is not longer needed in HEN 3.2.1
  • ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT could be related to the plugin not being loaded due the external boot_plugins.txt
  • PS3MAPI server must be enabled in /setup.ps3 to be able to access it remotely
  • PS3MAPI server connection was updated not much time ago. Although there aren't recent bug reports related to these changes, it needs to be reviewed as well.

Unfortunately I cannot verify most of these issues due lack of time and I use a completely different environment (CFW)

Analyzing the possible user errors I arrived at the following answer _After reviewing /dev_hdd0/boot_plugins.txt I can notice that WEBFTP_SERVER.SPRX is actually loading (irrelevant but also REC.SPRX) both load when starting the enabler. _There is no USB connected to the console (excluding the usb to load the controller and a USB controller) I also took the time to check if the boot_plugins.txt was still on the flash drive and I did not find it in the root of the usb _I checked /setup.ps3 again and I can confirm that the option related to mapi is enabled, also that indeed the two plugins mentioned at the beginning are loaded Thank you very much in advance

My previous list was not extensive. I only tried to show a few examples of possible causes. A deeper analysis is needed, but I don't have the time at the moment due personal reasons that I prefer to not discuss publicly.

I recommend that wait for some other developers that could review your issue. Opening a thread in PSX-PLACE may increase the exposure of this issue.
