Issue loading games off of an NTFS drive

Open xJayson opened this issue 4 years ago • 6 comments

I don't know why, but prepISO doesn't work for me on Webman 1.47.35.

I tried re-installing Webman and nothing changed, I still can't see the games pop up in the PS3 Games menu!

I guess I'll try Webman 1.47.34, it might work for me.

After execute prepISO, check if the scanned files are found in /dev_hdd0/tmp/wmtmp

Also try restoring to the default settings deleting the file /dev_hdd0/tmp/wm_config.bin then restart the console.

OK. Might try it out.

Btw, I tried 1.47.34 and it worked flawlessly.

The newer version is supposed to be better, right? But for some reason it's not the case for 1.47.35

Sorry, closed the issue by mistake. I reopened it.

As far as I recall, the recent changes to 1.47.35 should not affect the content scanning of prepISO.

You can try installing 1.47.35, then disable the option /dev_ntfs in /setup.ps3 and scan again with prepISO. That option occasionally cause random conflicts with prepISO, due it executes again the internal prepNTFS (that is a limited version of prepISO); resulting in missing content.

I tried all your suggested fixes and nothing seems to work perfectly. One fix which is disabling /dev_ntfs doesn't fix the issue, rather it makes prepISO useless lol. Re-enabling it though fixes the issue temporarily for some reason. So everytime I restart my PS3 I have to disable and re-enable this option for games to pop up with prepISO... kind of a hassle

In 1.47.34, I didn't have to do all this work. I guess I'mma roll back to the previous version.

Nonetheless, thank you very much for the help and your awesome job with Webman!

@AbuOuma, old issue, but you might be interested in this: https://www.psx-place.com/threads/weird-issue-with-device-formatted-to-ntfs-using-linux.34381/#post-300275 (though this has more to do with NTFS in general rather than NTFS through wMM). Try running chkdsk on your device and see how it goes (like suggested in linked post).
