WebMAN MOD disabling WiFi / BT on Rebug 4.86

Open Meekrat45 opened this issue 3 weeks ago • 2 comments

Randomly, without changing anything on Webman MOD, I booted up my console to find that WiFi / BT was no longer working, console booting up and working very slow / freezing etc. Model is CECH-2501 so I figured it must be the WiFi power chip or WiFi board itself as that is common on the 250x. Figured I’d uninstall Webman just in case before taking it apart. Webman would not uninstall and most features would say “Webman not ready” when trying to open any Webman browser related task it would load a white screen saying to check network settings (tried all network settings, no WiFi and errors there). Once I manually uninstalled Webman MOD from the tutorial here removing all files, folders, plugins etc and rebooted, WiFi / BT came back to life and all problems went away. I have never experienced this before on any PS3 and it didn’t seem like a common fix so posting here. Wondering what effected that?

webMAN MOD remaps some sprx files when found in /dev_hdd/tmp or /dev_hdd/tmp/wm_res

It is possible that you had installed one sprx from a patch/mod PKG that could be causing the conflict.

You could try re-installing webMAN MOD, without installing any other patch/mod PKG and check if the problem persists.

Another possible source of the issue could be product of a deffective WiFi/BT board causing intermittence.

Uninstalling Webman MOD manually worked (as uninstalling from the XMB just flags a “Webman not ready”. Installing the latest Webman MOD worked after that. Will see if it happens again on any other PS3s
