Keypoint heatmap/mask groundtruth smaller than image size

Hi, I can't find anything on how to crop groundtruth masks/ keypoint heatmaps when the groundtruth mask is a smaller size than the image size. For example heatmaps are size 64x64 however, the input image is 256x256. How can you crop the heatmaps according to the image? It seems straightforward to resize the heatmaps, and then apply the crop to the input image and heatmaps. But I was wondering if there was another way.
