iTunes on Big Sur not working

iTunes Volume Control doesn't control volume of iTunes 12.9.5 on Big Sur 11.2.3. MBP 9,2

I am surprised, and I feel sorry to hear that. I don't know what the origin could be. I have posted a new version, now compiled for M1 and Intel processors; see https://github.com/alberti42/Volume-Control. I have been using it on Big Sur for a couple of months and I don't have problems.

Hi,

your new version works perfectly, although I had to hack it quite a bit to get it to work by resigning it again:

codesign --force --deep --sign - /Applications/Volume\ Control.App

Now I can start the new app again and it works on my Big Sur Mac.

Thank you for the feedback! I forgot that I should not have signed the app. Uff. Apple made it really difficult for hobby programmer. I will release an unsigned one soon for everybody else.

I'm experiencing the same issue with not being able to launch the new version on Big Sur. Really looking forward to the unsigned updated version. Your app has been really helpful to me as I have an LG ultrawide monitor connected via USB-C with speakers which I'm using... but had no way to control the volume via software until I found your app. Thank you so much for the work on this. I've attached a screenshot of the permissions issue dialog box that pops up when I try to open the new version.

Thank you for your feedback. I did the mistake initially to post the app signed. I removed the signature on the same day, i.e., a week ago. I am surprised that your app was signed.
