I will do so once MacOS 10.15 is released. I am not an Apple developer. Therefore, I do not have access to the preview of the new MacOS before it is released. If you have ideas how I can get my hands on Catalina, let me know.

Look here : https://betaprofiles.com/

Just download the 10.15 beta profile , install it and restart . After that you have to download ca. 5 GB .

You don’t need a developer account and don’t have to pay ;)

Thank you! I have installed it using Parallels as a virtual machine. Unfortunately, the latest version of Parallel does not support Catalina yet and therefore I miss internet connectivity. It is also very difficult to use mouse and keyboard. So, I assume that I will try again in the coming weeks after Parallel will be upgraded to Catalina.

However, my biggest concern is how to distribute applications with Catalina. I read from the web:

  1. Notarization Along with the changes to Gatekeer, notorization is – as expected after the incremental changes seen >during macOS 10.14 Mojave – now compulsory. Notarization is a set of automated scans that take >place when a developer builds an app for distribution. The changes in Catalina mean that developers >will be unable to build and distribute apps for use on 10.15 without notarizing them first.

Already with Mojave, many users experienced lot of problems when trying to run this app. Do you know what I should do? I tried to enroll in the Apple Developer Program to notarize my app. However, this requires me to pay a fee of 100$ a year. It seems somehow too much for me since I am not getting any cent in return. Do you have ideas how to proceed? Is the only option to subscribe to Apple Developer Program?

Cheers, Andrea

Hi ,

Sorry for the late answer . When I understand apple in the right way , they have loosen up the rules a bit for developers . Now it is easier to get such a notarization

The new version 1.6.7 fixes the compatibility issues with Catalina.

Thanks so much for supporting the new Music app — I love this utility and depend on it daily!

ps. I realize this might be a contentious suggestion, but: now that "iTunes" is no longer the name of the app this utility controls, would it make more sense to rename the utility to something like VolumeLink or LinkedVolumeControl or something to that effect?

We need to add support for Podcasts app. Any chance this can be done easily?

Replying to the suggestion https://github.com/alberti42/iTunes-Volume-Control/issues/14#issuecomment-614303506 the app has now changed name to Volume Control, see https://github.com/alberti42/Volume-Control

So, Music app is supported. Unfortunately Apple Podcasts and Apple TV do not support Apple Scripts. You can only hope that Apple will add this support in the future. Without it, adjusting their volume would require hacking those app. This is maybe not insanely complicated, but after any update there is the risk that the feature does not work any more. So it is not really worth the time investment. I don't know of any other way to adjust their volume if not using AppleEvents.
