Alarms won't stop ringing

Alarms I setup with alarm-clock are designed to issue the default audio alert, and to pop up a dialog window. However, when closing the dialog box, the alarm sound does not stop. The only way I've been able to get it to stop is if I shutdown or kill alarm-clock. Same issue with just the default alert preferences (eg: sound alert only)
