Various quirks in visual formatting and user interaction
Planify is visually elegant and highly usable, but its feature set carries a handful of small quirks, which might be considered for incremental improvement.
Some such quirks are as follows:
-
No option for keeping completed tasks displayed in main view.
-
Tasks with unassigned priority are ranked lower than tasks with priority assigned as low.
-
Search and synchronize functionality both not available except through sidebar being open.
-
Awkward and confusing "Note" box above main task list.
-
No support for consolidated list of all tasks from all sources and projects.
-
No support for setting start time of task, or even for viewing it as set by other applications.
-
Markdown formatting not rendered in titles.
-
Markdown rendering quirky and nonstandard (e.g. theme separator, indicated in Markdown by a line containing three successive hyphens or asterisks, is interpreted rather as to cause center justification of text).
-
Drag-and-drop for add button leaves artifacts after released (presented as empty and highlighted list entries).
-
Absent of broken implementation for dragging floating button over existing item to create a new item as child.
-
When task is expanded in list, the checkbox is shifted toward the left, implying a lower depth, such that the item appears as a child of its predecessor, not the next item at the same level.
A clearer formatting would keep the checkbox and task title outside of the expansion box showing the task details.
