1.21.1 - In-Game config does not save on world restart

Open ToxinZangoose opened this issue 1 year ago • 10 comments

Summary I manually redo all of the configuration each time I boot up a singleplayer instance with this mod installed.

Running Environment

  • Minecraft Version: 1.21.1
  • ParCool Version: 3.3.0.0
  • NeoForge Version (optional): 21.1.73

Detail When launching the world, I notice my configuration for different actions and sound effects being removed and replaced by a default config whenever I close and reopen a world. I then have to redo all of the actions and configuration by myself instead of it saving automatically.

Additional Data No crash logs or latest logs mention any issues with configuration files failing to save or persist.

I tested but such problem was not reproduced. More precisely what problem occurred? Could you try again with latest version (v3.3.0.4)?

I launch the game, change the configuration for which actions I can do along with the removal of Vault in Air, when I close the world and relaunch it, it does not save the configuration I set up.

I didn't see a version for 3.3.0.4, only 3.3.0.2 and below for NeoForge 1.21.1

Updated the world to use version 3.0.3.4, issue persists.

I updated to 3.0.3.5 and the config does not save.

Steps to Solve

  1. Create a world and edit the config to your liking.
  2. Find the serverconfig folder in the world you created.
  3. Copy the file to the defaultconfigs folder. If you are using Overwolf, this will be in your profile folder.

Note that this will only affect server-side configs. Based on the nature of your problem, I think that's the issue.

I tried this with Prism Launcher and the issue still happens.

I tested again, open world, and modify config with in-game setting menu provided by ParCool (ALT+P), then close the world. After that open world again but still the changed setting are still changed.

This may be kind of incompatibility?

I suspect that it is a mod incompatibility, but I cannot find which one would cause it. If you wouldn't mind, I could send the pack I've been working on. Update: I think I found the cause, here are the steps to reproduce the issue:

  1. Create a new world, allowing commands, and setting the game to peaceful
  2. Next, try editing Parcool's Config In-Game and set it up like so.

Image Image 3. Close world, and relaunch the game 4. Notice the config does not save.

I am using Minecraft 1.21.1 NeoForge 1.21.169 and I tested this with only Patchouli and ParCool installed.

I tested this again today on NeoForge 21.1.209 and with only Patchouli and ParCool installed and the config does not save when relaunching Minecraft/restarting the world.
