New release
Would it be possible for a new release so that I can install a more up to date version through package manager?
Which package manager do you use?
Nix
Thanks.
Sorry to bother, would there be a new release then?
Yes, but it takes time. In addition, the Nixpkgs package needs to be updated, but it would take even longer time because of the lack of man power in Nixpkgs.
Ah, I see, that's understandable If you don't mind me asking, should I be expecting a release in the count of weeks or months? I'd like to determine whether I should wait or find another way to install Thanks for your time
I will try to finish everything within ten days, but I'm not sure if I can complete it within that time frame. I need to check all the changes since the last release, backport some of the critical fixes to the v0.3 branch, prepare the release note, and clean up some of the old codes. There are additional chore tasks. I also need to see if the current master is stable enough. Could you assume it would take about one month?
I actually recommend that users clone the GitHub repository and build ble.sh locally, or users use the night build version. That way, the users can update ble.sh to the latest version anytime using ble-update.
I need to check all the changes since the last release,
Out of 293 substantial commits, 83 commits were already examined at the point you requested the new release. After your request, I checked additional 45 commits until now. 165 commits are still left.
Let me keep this open until the new release.
Ah, okay, makes sense
Thanks a lot!
Can confirm it may take little while before the new release is published in nixpkgs even after the changes are pushed there.
I installed ble.sh for the first time last night (using Nix) and I'm curious as a newcomer - @Anninzy would you be willing to share which features/updates you are looking forward to from the nightly build that aren't in the version in nixpkgs (0.4.0-devel3)?
I also updated the Wiki info for installing using Nix with instructions for using configuration.nix or Home Manager packages in case that helps anyone =)
@kaBeech I was just looking for the color_scheme option really
Makes sense - thanks!
FWIW, the 0.4.0-devel3 version of ble.sh picked up my stylix color theme with no apparent issue. Understandable if you don't want to use a theming framework, but just want to suggest that as an option in case it's helpful!
I'm sorry for the delay, but I'm busy. I finished checking the 165 commits mentioned in https://github.com/akinomyoga/ble.sh/issues/566#issuecomment-2769171634, but there are about 30 additional commits after that.
eagerly waiting for a release ...
