vterm-copy-mode toggle sometimes fails to recognize key bind

I currently use doom-emacs and have vterm setup. It works great for most use cases (so thanks!). I notice that sometimes when toggling vterm-copy-mode in a tmux pane that the C-c C-t binding just disappears requiring a M-x vterm-copy-mode toggle (twice as it seems to have lost state).
