Zsh has spurious % partial line indicators

I have noticed this problem in macOS, for both Terminal and iTerm2. I am using Oh-My-Zsh, but this also happens with vanilla Zsh (but not with Bash).

These stop appearing for future commands in the vterm buffer if I resize my terminal window to change the width, regardless of the original size. I.e. making it wider or narrower seems to work.

I know that there was some bug in earlier Emacs versions (I am running 27.1) with the built in term and ansi-term emulators and Zsh: https://emacs.stackexchange.com/questions/42129/multi-term-and-zsh But Zsh does not exhibit this behavior in those modes as of v27.1.

I get something like this. vterm

As compared to in terminal: terminal

Not sure how to fix it. I am using Ubuntu 18.04, with oh-my-bash. Though get a similar error on Mac with oh-my-zsh.
