Issue changing family

I try to change new products family from a default family, it shows warning and skipped the bulk job, Warning message: family: The variant product family must be the same than its parent: SKU what I selected was the products and their all related parents product model.

Hi @stevelou2, I guess this is the intended behavior by Akeneo.

It seems that the family can only be changed by bulk for simple products: (https://help.akeneo.com/pim/serenity/articles/product-mass-actions.html#available-bulk-actions)

I have the same issue.

Now what I'm doing is detach from product model then change family, remove product model, then let ERP create product model again according to existing child products' family.
