Cutscenes: CGI and actor based differences in various languages
Just wanted to differentiate from isssue 423.
What troubles me are those interlude videos, like Thorinescort. Those video
have CGI scenes in the international and actors in the hungarian and sometimes
it completly sucks. I can't even do pauses or remove soething because they have
music most of the time. So just an idea:
Messages stay for all languages the same. Only some big cutsenes where human
actors were replaced with CGI characters and only in instances where it's
really bad (like throinescort) could be language specific. Id would only affect
a few cutscnenes. The german version is synced to the english ones so they
would share their cutscenes.
Think about it (if you have the time someday). There is no hurry.

If it gets so bad, we will use language specific videos.

Many big interlude cutscenes in the english and german version suffer sync
issues not fixable by editing the audio.
Therefore some of them need to be replaced with the international ones.
The problem is: We are getting a pretty mixed experience considering the
actors. It becomes an even stranger mix of CGI and real actors than it already
is. In order to give the player a coherent experience, I suggest the following
sepperation:
Messages and bar videos: Real actors (with the edited audio files from issue
423 they are pretty good now)
Other cutscenes: CGI actors (because of the reasons mentioned above)
Cutscenes to be replaced:
thorin-escort
level 2 intro
spy on johnson
level 3 intro

Four years later :) Those videos should really be replaced for the english version. Right now I am playing through the game again so I could add the missing videos (if I find more that need to be replaced) in the near future. You mentioned a new patch this weekend. Maybe you could already implement the videos mentioned above?
