Recalling commands while in Visual Select mode

In vim you can select a block of text with V, then open the command line with : and recall older commands with <Up> and <Down>. vim automatically prepends each recalled commands with '<,'> so that the command would only affect the area currently selected.

In wasavi this currently only works for new commands, and not for recalled commands. In other words: when you select a block with V and then open the command line with :, the command line is correctly prefixed with '<,'>, but as soon as you press <Up> or <Down>, the prefix is gone because wasavi replaces the whole command line with the one from the history.

I tried it with vim 7.4 (Included patches: 1-1689, Extra patches: 8.0.0056). However, when I go back to the history, '<,'> seems to disappear. Will it depend on any options or plugins?

None that I know of. I've moved my .vimrc aside to get rid of all my customizations and it still works. The settings that now still exist:
