Feature request: Access the generated PDF?

I'm have been using this extension in combination with the Latex Workshop extension, but I realised I probably don't even need the Latex Workshop extension. The only thing that would be missing is access to the generated PDF.

Is it possible to get the extension to save the pdf alongside the tex file? If not, can you tell me where it puts the generated pdf?
