"Urban VPN" causing broken URL behavior, breaking SponsorBlock

Open cysjunk opened this issue 1 year ago • 10 comments

SponsorBlock was working normally until YouTube did another clumsy update. When I go to a video page from the browser the video and its segments will play fine but when I navigate to another video the URL doesn't change in the address bar. The video still loads however it will have the segments from the previous video. The only solution I've found is to disable it entirely.

Browser is Chrome 112. This issue doesn't happen with Firefox.

Can you send a video including the URL bar?

Waaaat. I hope that is a bug on YouTube's end. It makes no sense not to change the url. Try disabling your other extensions.

Can you replicate it without any browser extensions enabled?

Works fine on a fresh chrome with no other extensions, enabling them one at a time now to see which is the culprit

Interestingly, it does not work on my main browser when I disable all other extensions, I have a theory

Edit: Theory was that it had something to do with YouTube Premium, it does not.

The culprit is the extension Urban VPN

Ah, I see I'm going to have to disable that on my computer, thanks
