AIP 58: Reward for Translations

Summary

Currently, the web app (www.airswap.io) has support for 6 languages - English, French, Norwegian, Dutch, Portuguese, and Chinese. We propose a mechanism to reward contributors for their efforts and to entice more language support going forward.

Specification

• The web app currently has 6 languages supported (English, French, Norwegian, Dutch, Portuguese, Chinese)
• A reward of 300 USD in AST to be paid out for each fully completed translation (based on the current 150 terms in the dictionary) that is implemented on the web app (www.airswap.io).
• Translations are to be done in poeditor and rewards will be distributed once the translations are 100% completed and vetted by the community.
• This reward will remain open until July 31, 2022 to encourage further language support to be added to www.airswap.io. At that point the community will reassess the rewards for translations and adjust as needed, or alternatively, close the reward mechanism if it appears language support is satisfactory.

Rationale

• We need a transparent mechanism for rewarding contributions to translation of www.airswap.io
• We need a mechanism to encourage further language support and grow our community beyond English and French.
