AIP 51 : Deploy AirSwap on Polygon

Summary

  • There has been demand for OTC and RFQ trades on the Polygon chain.
  • Makers are interested to deploy liquidity to Polygon to support AirSwap protocols
  • Institutional traders have expressed interest to use AirSwap for on-chain settlement of options contracts
  • AirSwap should deploy its contracts on Polygon as soon as possible to fill the Market gap

Specification

  • Devs will deploy AirSwap v3 contracts on Polygon.
  • Swap fees assessed through AirSwap will be the same as on mainnet.
  • Front ends will integrate AirSwap contracts once ready

Requirements

Polygon is currently compatible with AirSwap contracts (EVM solution, no timestamp issues)

Rationale

AirSwap’s mission is to become the standard protocol for peer-to-peer trading. More DeFi projects are moving to Polygon to take advantage of their cheaper fees and faster block time. From AIP 49, the AirSwap DAO has established a multi chain strategy to prioritize rolling out AirSwap protocols to various chains. We have already successfully deployed on AVAX and BSC.

Around $2.5B of liquidity is already deposited on Polygon. Retail traders who will be able to use Metamask Swaps and our web app to instantly swap tokens through AirSwap. Some institutional companies expressed the need to integrate AirSwap into its trading processes, thus we propose to deploy AirSwap next on Polygon according to the framework defined in AIP 49: #49

AirSwap’s unique RFQ and OTC protocols would be valuable to these projects, and we should deploy our contracts quickly there to take advantage of it. We will also continue to actively reach out to projects on the Polygon network who might be interested in integrating AirSwap protocols.

oh yeah, the name probably can be changed haha. "Migration" sounds like the whole AirSwap will move to Polygon.

Probably can just call it "Deploy AirSwap on Polygon"
