Windows wallet doesn't start

Open Backy1122 opened this issue 7 years ago • 13 comments

After installation the wallet doesn't start. I saw Java pop up during installation, but it disappeared immediately. How to fix this?

Same here. Aion Wallet won't start. Using Windows 10. I updated the latest Java. Disabled AV program, still won't do anything. Just generated very long log files in the application directory. Can't begin to find any technical support. All this talent and the wallet doesn't even work.

@Backy1122 @Anlihuha Hey, possible for you guys to try removing the old installer, redownloading and trying again? The reason the latest Java no longer works is because JDK/JRE 11 no longer packages JavaFX as part of it's distribution, we've updated the installer to bundle it's own runtime in response to this.

@qoire that fixed it. thanks!

I completely uninstalled both Java and the Aion wallet last night, reinstalled the latest 64-bit version of Java for Windows 10, then reinstalled the Aion wallet. Still won’t start. The error log that is dumped into the Aion wallet folder definitely appears to relate to Java issues though.

Did the Aion wallet change occur since last night? If so, I will try again tonight

Let me know if there's still an error for you after you've tried redownloading the installer. For the record there's no need for you to install your own version of Java. I'd be happy to take a look at whatever error log you can produce.

I never did get the wallet to load properly. Should I send an error log?

Hey, there was nothing attached, can you edit your message to include the error?

qoire avatar Nov 27 '18 13:11 qoire

I just checked and it was attached. I sent the email in rich text format, so it will likely be in the body of the email at the bottom of the chain

Where is log file in windows?

In users folder is empty...

nikito7 avatar Nov 29 '18 17:11 nikito7

The log file I sent was what was dumped into the AionWallet folder after I attempted to run the program. From where can I grab the Windows log file that you mentioned?
