Maybe make a more generalized function to do things like AdjSD but could give you range of residuals and possibly use TLS based residuals as well

Total Least Squares (TLS) seems like "major axis regression" (Numerical Ecology Ed3, page 542) and Orthogonal Distance Regression (pg 556)
