Vertically merged cells are not centered vertically

After the Obsidian 1.5.3 update, Vertically merged cells are not centered vertically anymore, as they are having a top alignment instead of having a centered vertical alignment:

Stage | Direct Products | ATP Yields
----: | --------------: | ---------:
Glycolysis | 2 ATP ||
^^ | 2 NADH | 3--5 ATP |
Pyruvaye oxidation | 2 NADH | 5 ATP |
Citric acid cycle | 2 ATP ||
^^ | 6 NADH | 15 ATP |
^^ | 2 FADH2 | 3 ATP |
**30--32** ATP |||

The previous markdown block is rendered differently between the Obsidian versions 1.5.3 and 1.4.16, as the version 1.5.3 renders vertically merged cells with a top vertical alignment, while version 1.4.16 renders them with a centered vertical alignment as how they should be:

In the previous Obsidian version 1.4.16
