Unable to cut contig in JBAT

Open tommathers opened this issue 6 years ago • 4 comments

Hi,

I am having a bit of trouble editing an assembly with JBAT. Most contigs I can cut and edit as needed but in some instances I select a contig, get the scissors icon but on clicking I just get a yellow edit square and the program does not make the cut. It does not appear to be un responsive and I can carry on editing other parts of the assembly. I have attached a screenshot showing an example. In this example the adjacement contig can be cut.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Thanks,

Tom.

Hi Tom,

Thanks for posting. It looks like a very big contig: just try giving it a bit of time. This is a weird behavior that needs to be traced, but when very much zoomed in in a big contig it takes long to figure out how far the boundaries are for the prompt to decide on whether you are safely inside to do the suggested cut. Lmk if this addresses the problem or perhaps this is a different scenario.

Thanks, Olga

I have come into the same problem, and I think it's not about the time waiting, because I tried again and again on the same contig. But my contig is much smaller. What should I do?

If your contig is already a debris contig editing is not allowed. Check the name to see if it has the :::debris label.

Best, Olga

Hi, I met the same problem. The contig does have the :::debris label. So how should I change the label? Thanks!
