USB device not recognised (Windows then works)

Does anyone else have Windows initially say: USB device not recognised/not working error and then 4 5 seconds later the "not working" device in Device Manager disappears and a new HID device appears?

That for all intense and purposes is not very stealthy :) but I can see the pi booting... then the scripts loading etc. and it all taking a bit to long.

Oops, looking into this one completely slipped my mind.

Initial thought is that during boot Windows sees the Pi as a USB device (prior to us running scripts to setup as a keyboard), and doesn't know what to do with it during this time. I suspect that if you boot on the power port from a battery and plug in after boot sequence then you should avoid this message if the hypothesis is correct.
