Please describe what exactly is weird with it. I've experienced some cut-offs randomly (all of which are solved with a reboot) but never distorted audio quality (if that is what you're seeing) Please also do a kextstat with AppleALC and report back.

Also, thank you for using the example AND providing your exact hardware - makes our lives a lot easeir.
