Please update compat bindings from "file"

Thanks very much for supplying the compat bindings (especially as this package is so popular that e.g. Debian no longer ships the original bindings). Please could you update them? I don't think there's much danger of having to do it often, but the upstream version has been improved and extended in recent years.
