Can multiple PDFs be opened at the same time?

When I open another PDF, the previous one closes, did I miss something?

You can navigate to previously opened files by going back in history e.g. pressing backspace, or by pressing C-o to open a list of previously opened files. If you want to have separate windows, you can use the new_window command to open a new window.
