Interrupt Wiring

sorry for the bother again I'm trying to figure out how to setup the encoder with interrupts and not exactly sure how to wire my hall effect sensors.

I would assume that the signal pins are both connected to the analogue inputs as well as the interrupt inputs. I couldn't use pins 2 and 3 since those are my SDA and SCL pins and being used for a OLED display. My board, arduino pro micro (Leonardo), can use pins 0, 1, 2, 3 and 7 for interrupts. when I tried a test just wiring the sensor outputs to them though there was no life on the counter.

Am i wrong to assume a simple wiring directly to both inputs? I haven't used interrupts before so apologies if this should be obvious.
