Additional latency while calling Cloud Run services

I already saw there is a TODO item in the FAQ to add documentation on the extra latency.

Actually the cloud run logs show the processing time for each request is only 1ms however the total round trip time measured from the client is 20ms. The client machine and the Cloud Run service are hosted in the same GCP region us-west1
