Is the mpc-qt player based on the Windows version of mpc-hc? Does it perform just as well as the Windows version as well as is the video quality playback the same as the Windows version?

I noticed that with the Windows version it has a better playback quality and is more lightweight compared to VLC player. I was wondering if this is the same thing with the linux version?

Is it also available in the AUR?

It's based on mpv. The performance and quality should be the same as mpv.
