I guess this thread is enough tracking for now, getting it to work won't be super easy since I haven't immediately found great resources for the Holtek Cortex M0 chips....
I remember the same. According to https://github.com/hi-a/annepro-key#hardware there's a bq24075 charger, which doesn't seem to give us voltage: http://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/bq24075-q1.pdf I'm not sure if any of the other chips might help...
That is a nice idea and shouldn't actually be all that difficult as there's already a protocol in place to talk to the keyboard over bluetooth. See for example @fcoury...

And related: We do get info back via AckHostListQuery, which is three bytes. The last is a bool if it's legacy or ble, and I think the first byte is...
Maybe? All that is just based on the same guessing :) Haven't tried what happens if you add a 5th host, currently busy with other parts. Upper limit is 8,...
Agreed, that'd be really nice. If anyone wants to give this a go I'm happy to point into the right direction :)
That should work, even with existing Actions, so all it needs is mapping to a key? Not sure how to test though given that we can't yet upload custom themes...
