The tarballs we generate are either pure rootfs or images with OSTree in bare mode. What I am looking for is a tarball which just contains an OSTree in archive...

FWIW, this is still the case for me using SDWire 1.4 devices, on Ubuntu 21.04 (Linux 5.11) using Labgrid master as of today.
@jluebbe yes the same errors. Hm, this got me thinking, there is udisks running on that host, and I remember that on my Desktop udisks also rereads partition tables etc....
Just realized that `8AF71502-9C00-498A-2410-8A332000FA99` is the reverse of the actual characteristic. I guess this is just a formatting error when this messages is being printed.
@anisart hm, there was also this printing error at one point: https://github.com/esphome/esphome/pull/2061, but this seems to be a more sever issue indeed. Did you try with ESPHome 2021.11, does it...
