Permit migration from one computer to another
Pond does not appear to offer an easy way to migrate from one computer to another, particularly when TPM protection has been enabled.
I know that you don't want people to backup their pond state files, but machines do die, or need re-installation on occasion, and re-establishing your contacts is a PITA that it would be nice to avoid.
The ability to entomb the statefile added in https://github.com/agl/pond/commit/637bac76bb505e87eb1bcce7261ee4d395ad1755 is designed to do exactly that, but this functionality is still not present in the CLI interface.
Without TPM protection it should be enough to move the ~/.config/pond file to new computer.
As an aside, I once broke pond by entombing on an Mac, which lack TPM. I should probably go back, reproduce that bug, and fix it.
@csoghoian Does the entomb functionality help with the migration issue?
Being able to backup state files will actually be work, because one would need to start new axolotl ratchets with all contacts to get the clients in sync again. This should be another ticket though, if there is demand for this functionality.
I also created #164 about the support for entomb in the CLI.
(Just trying to do some ticket gardening.)
