Striplog visualization basics

Brief Description:

Strip log data, in combination with petrophysical log data, can be visualized in a customizable page layout. The use case should use a separate and interchangeable color template for lithologies and linestyle templates for other logs. An Example should be made in which depth axis is marked with multiple scaling (e.g., ability to plot both metric and imperial depths).

Actors:

Users of this workflow want to develop reports and figures for atlas imagery and/or professional publications. Geologists and atlas designers, mainly.

Precondition:

Can assume an interchangeable color template and several “designed” page layouts already exist in the digital format. If where the data is missing, indicate it is missing

Alternate Flows:

the use case should easy to display 1D data set with different type of charts, figures and maps into one page.

Exception Flows:

Needs to gracefully handle when data is missing and extreme dataset (e.g., too dense)

Post-Conditions:

Example script with above workflow(s) on real data needs to be provided. Resulting LAS, PDF, and image files that are produced needs to be provided. Script and use case should be presented with explanatory documentation (either in line or auxiliary to script code). This could be a Python workbook of some variety.
