Excluding folders in scans. @eaDir

Open Dubwize opened this issue 2 years ago • 5 comments

So I'm wondering if there is a way to exclude folders during scans?

In my case, I am referring to the the Synology created @eaDir folder, it's auto created in every folder and is rather annoying to have populated in Polaris.

Thank you

There is currently no way to do this, but it is a good suggestion.

One ugly workaround that might work in the meantime would be denying Polaris read permissions on these folders.

I will give that a try, I'm not sure changing permissions will persist for too long, I'm guessing the next time the indexer (or whatever it is that builds that) runs it will overwrite it. But we shall give it a try.

Perhaps a regex like for cover images is in order? For me i'd like to exclude dotfiles. .zfs is a folder on ZFS datasets that allow you to view previous snapshots of the filesystem. Polaris ended up indexing into these, giving me ~100 copies of each song.

I think maybe a reasonable argument could be made that dotfiles should always be excluded? It seems highly unlikely any user would want to index these. Worst case scenario, a user can work around it by adding a non-dot symlink to the dotfile.

Sounds like a default regex of ^\.
