linux script won't connect to video feed

Hello ! Thank you for making this app!

I use it with my old motoral G and the it streams video perfectly via the browser based interface.

However, I want to connect to the phone and use it as a webcam in other apps. According to your readme, this should be possible using the shell script you have provided. I am pretty sure all the dependencies including adb are met. I am attempting to connect to the phone over the USB cable. When I run the scrip, i get the GUI pop up saying the camera is connected to /dev/video1. The camera device shows up in all the apps on my linux desktop, but there is no video. I only get a black screen.

On the phone, the "video connections" counter is still 0. This leads me to believe that the video feed connection to my phone is not established by the shell script. How can I fix this ?

EDIT: I have noticed that for about a minute, the video connections counter does change to "1". But then it turns back to 0. Even when it is one, none of the apps show a video feed from the device.
