[Bug] Portfolio Performance is not displayed correctly

Open fallenczar opened this issue 6 months ago • 13 comments

V 1.1.4 Windows 11 Portfolio performance is currently displayed correctly. clicking the 3Y, 5Y, All buttond does not show portfolio performance in this timeframe, it seems to be capped at 1Y. Similarly, if you manually choose the dates before the 1Y mark - portfolio performance page does not show any data

Thanks for the report. The portfolio performance chart depends on the transactions you’ve entered. Could you confirm if you’ve added data going back more than 1 year?

Also, if you’re using Buy/Sell transactions, make sure corresponding cash entries (e.g., deposits before a Buy) are recorded correctly otherwise performance data may be incomplete.

More details here: https://wealthfolio.app/docs/concepts/activity-types/

What's the error message in the log file?

on Windows: %APPDATA%\com.teymz.wealthfolio (usually C:\Users\<Your Username>\AppData\Roaming\com.teymz.wealthfolio)
on macOS: ~/Library/Logs/com.teymz.wealthfolio (e.g., /Users/Alice/Library/Logs/com.teymz.wealthfolio)
on Linux: ~/.config/com.teymz.wealthfolio (e.g., /home/alice/.config/com.teymz.wealthfolio)
These logs can be helpful when reporting issues to our support team.

After update 1.15, this problem is happening to me as well. YTD, 1Y/3Y performance do not work, they all seem to get stuck with starting date January 14th 2025 (in my portfolio at least).

Also, if I choose to display 5Y performance (or ALL), the graph stops around mid February 2022 and then jumps to the valuation of January 14th, 2025.

This did not happen before (v. 1.14 or older).

If you have both SELL and BUY activities on the same date, consider adjusting the timeline to prioritize SELL activities first, followed by BUY activities.

Additionally, the log time cannot be set to YYYY/MM/DD 00:00; please change the hour to a different time, such as the default time of 4:00 PM.

I used this approach and resolved my performance chart issue.

If the 4:00 pm time has been assigned by default to the entries I have imported since 2018 (thousands of them!), then it's impossible to go back and alter those entries. The question is what broke the performance timeframes since version 1.14/1.15 (to me since 1.15).

Is the portfolio history chart correct in your case?

Is the portfolio history chart correct in your case?

In my case it is up to 6 months only because it starts at 14th of January 2025 for some reason (same with YtD, 1Y). 3Y and up stop at February 2022 and then jump at the Jan 14th 2025 date with all interim performance/graph missing.

I mean the chart in the main page dashboard. not the performance chart?

Jules is on it. When finished, you will see another comment and be able to review a PR.

This is wrong too. 6M, YtD, 1Y start from January 14th, 5Y/ALL display data up to Feb10, 2022 and then jump to January 15th, 2025.
