Update location of integration dynamically based on location sensor of HA app device

Open GuySie opened this issue 3 years ago • 4 comments

The neerslag app/card currently shows the expected rain for a fixed location that is set up during installation, for most people it's probably their home.

Would it be possible to base the location not on a pre-set location, but on a dynamically updated location of a device like a phone running the Home Assistant app? The HA app has a sensor.devicename_geocoded_location sensor that contains lat/long location data. Then my HA setup always knows the expected rain forecast for the location I'm in, which is not necessarily my home.

This would be a new feature. If it is possible to get to the particular sensor within this integration this could be pretty straightforward to implement. I will need to do a bit of research on this.

Great, thanks! Next to using your Lovelace card in my home HA interface, I'm also using the sensor data from Neerslag-app to build a chart to always display on my apple watch's face. Having access to a dynamic location would be very helpful to me:

And how about adding a second location?

I would like to use this integration for my Stromer bike to see if I can expect some rain. My bikes position is in a sensor. So I’m curious if you could add this new feature 😀
