Reconcile extra applications removal from tenant namespace

Open NickVolynkin opened this issue 9 months ago • 1 comments

As a user having a tenant with monitoring included, I can remove monitoring from my dashboard. However, if I do so, I see no simple way to get it back.

Of course, the Cozystack admin can re-apply it, but the end user can't.

It would be good to have one of these options:

  • add a way for end users to re-apply removed monitoring
  • disable end users from removing monitoring once it was included in a tenant
  • cover this scenario in docs (and UI?) to prevent users from removing what they can't recover

We need to add similar reconciliation logic for all applications

Hi, @NickVolynkin. I'm Dosu, and I'm helping the cozystack team manage their backlog and am marking this issue as stale.

Issue Summary:

  • You reported that once monitoring is removed from a tenant dashboard, only an admin can restore it.
  • This limitation leaves end users without an easy way to re-apply monitoring.
  • You suggested enabling users to re-apply monitoring, preventing its removal, or documenting this limitation.
  • A maintainer acknowledged the issue and mentioned the need to add reconciliation logic for all applications as a potential solution.
  • The issue remains unresolved with no recent updates.

Next Steps:

  • Please let me know if this issue is still relevant with the latest version of cozystack by commenting here.
  • If I do not hear back within 7 days, this issue will be automatically closed.

Thank you for your understanding and contribution!
