App Icon resets to default with each update

Open FlareHeart opened this issue 1 year ago • 2 comments

Describe the bug The custom app icon rests to default with each app update. When going into the settings it appears to still have the custom one selected but you have to change off to a different one and then go back to the custom one.

To Reproduce

  1. Change the chosen app icon
  2. Perform app upgrade
  3. Icon displays as default Rather than selected

Expected behavior App icon choice should continue to apply after app update.

Smartphone (please complete the following information):

  • Device: Pixel 5
  • OS: Android 14
  • Browser: Mull (Firefox fork)
  • Version: 123.1

Hi there! It is strange that you are experiencing that. On my android test devices, the custom icon persists. If anyone else is experiencing this and can add more information that may help me reproduce, please let me know!

I'm using a non-standard launcher called Neo Launcher (open source available on F-Droid). Could that be related?
